Charles Lee Feinberg was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 12, 1909. He was raised in an orthodox Jewish home and studied for the rabbinate before he became a Christian in 1930. Feinberg was a home missionary with the American Board of Missions to the Jews in Detroit and Brooklyn. He earned several degrees, including the following ones from Evangelical Theological College (renamed Dallas Theological Seminary in 1936) a Th.B. and Th.M. in 1934 and a Th.D. in 1935.
